When you focus on efficiency, on banishing waster, you won't be focusing on what is really important - people. Lean doesn't magically improve quality, shorten cycle time, increase efficiency, and raise profits. They all require people to make it happen.
They are the ones that will drive continuous improvement. They will improve your processes. They will remove the waste.
When you respect people up front, you'll be able to see waste the way they do. Waste is actually the ridiculous and stupid things that stop your people from creating the value they'd rather be doing. And value leads directly into my other post. (Sorry for putting the cart before the horse)
"Most businesses rise or fall not because of the product, but the people." - Steve Case
